Well-rounded mental health therapy:

As a licensed RTC (Registered Therapeutic Counsellor), my practice focuses not just on supporting you through pain, but also helping you find joy. 

By phone or by Zoom, I provide you with person-centred, somatic, trauma-informed, talk-therapy appointments.

That kind of a word salad, I know. But I promise, your therapy sessions will not sound like a textbook or a self-help influencer post.

I speak with you like a real person, having genuine, natural conversations with you.

With me, you’ll receive professional counselling that’s a safe and accepting space, getting you to a good place. (Sorry about the accidental rhyme!)

Rates:

Rates are based on the BCACC and CCPA fee guides for counsellors.

Appointments by phone or by Zoom.

Standard sessions: 50 minutes, $145

Extended sessions 80 minutes, $185

Appointments are available weekly, every ten days, or every two weeks. During your intake session, we’ll figure out what works best for you.

Once-a-month maintenance sessions are available after 6 months of regular appointments.

Payment methods accepted are eTransfer or PayPal. No tax. Please note, I do not directly accept insurance. You’re given a monthly PDF receipt, which you then submit to your insurer if you have one.

Person-Centred Therapy

Person-centred therapy is rooted in the belief that you are the expert of your own life. I provide open-minded and understanding support for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges. Safely, freely, and honestly. Through active listening, non-judgmental conversation, and considerate feedback, I help you build self-awareness, self-acceptance, self-forgiveness, and self-confidence.

Somatic Therapy

People also feel the effects of stress and trauma in our bodies, such as tension in muscles, stomach-aches and headaches before performing, speaking or socializing. And we often have a sense of disconnection from our physical self. Somatic therapy works by teaching you simple ways of connecting the body and mind, to assist in releasing stored emotions, and managing your responses to triggers and stress. This approach helps you feel more grounded and in-tune with your body, leading to increased emotional regulation and creative flow.

Trauma-Informed Counselling

Trauma-informed care is essential in recognizing how past trauma – whether it’s from childhood, relationships, events, family, work experiences, or watching ‘The Land Before Time’ or ‘The Neverending Story’ as a kid – can influence your mental health and creative process. My trauma-informed approach ensures that our work together is done with care and respect for your personal boundaries. You will feel safe, empowered, and supported as we do the work that allows you to heal and move forward.

Talk Therapy

Talk therapy allows us to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in-depth. I use a variety of therapeutic methods, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), to help you gain insights into the patterns affecting your life. You and I both have the same goals… To learn and create healthy ways of thinking and behaving. To improve your emotional balance and well-being.

Life Coaching

Life coaching involves working with you to set goals, overcome obstacles, and develop a plan for personal growth. Practical methods include goal-setting exercises, and accountability checks. Benefits of life coaching include increased clarity about your objectives, improved self-confidence, and enhanced motivation towards your plans. Through focused support and guidance, life coaching methods help to unlock your full potential and lead a more fulfilling life.
